Emirates News Agency – Mohamed bin Zayed receives President of Kenya

ABU DHABI, 15th February, 2022 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, received the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, who is currently visiting the United Arab Emirates. to attend his country’s celebration of its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai tomorrow, Wednesday.

During the meeting which took place at Qasr Al Bahr Majlis here, Sheikh Mohamed underscored the UAE’s readiness to strengthen its relationship with Kenya in the areas of economy, trade, investment, agriculture and other areas related to the dynamics of development defended by the two nations. The two sides also discussed a number of issues of interest, including strengthening cooperation and coordination within the United Nations to support common issues and objectives in light of the two countries’ adherence to the United Nations Security Council.

The meeting discussed Kenya’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai and its importance in embodying its vision for the future and showcasing its culture and heritage and the investment opportunities it offers.

His Highness thanked the Kenyan President for his country’s condemnation of the recent Houthi terror attacks on civilian facilities in the UAE and for declaring its solidarity with the UAE following this terrorist act.

During the meeting, His Highness reiterated the great importance that the UAE attaches to its relations with the African continent in various fields, and its support for whatever it takes to achieve stability and peace and bring prosperity, development and prosperity to the people of Africa.

On his part, the President of Kenya thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed for the warm welcome and support extended by the United Arab Emirates to Kenya in the face of the Covid pandemic. He hailed the ongoing development momentum of the UAE, stressing his country’s desire to strengthen its relations with the Emirates in various fields.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in Al Dhafra Region, His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi in Al Ain Region , His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, His Highness General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO).
