Hass Petroleum Group brings Papa John’s to Kenya and Uganda

Kitchen Express, a subsidiary of Hass Petroleum, plans to open 60 restaurants and use the retail fuel footprint.

Papa John’s International announced its expansion in sub-Saharan Africa, making Hass Petroleum Group the largest retail footprint in Africa.

The international fast food brand is partnering with Kitchen Express as a franchise partner, a subsidiary of the Hass Petroleum group, which has a significant retail presence in Africa.

Kitchen Express plans to open 60 restaurants in Kenya and Uganda, four of which are slated to open in 2022, starting with Nairobi. The partnership will allow Hass Petroleum to leverage its retail fuel footprint while introducing the Papa Johns brand to new customers.

In recent years, Papa Johns has entered 13 new countries, including Spain, Portugal, Germany, Cambodia, Pakistan, France, Tunisia, Iraq, Morocco, Kazakhstan and Poland.
