Joho sets the stage for Raila and Kalonzo Clash Over Sonko

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has set the stage for a clash between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga and his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka over Mike Sonko’s entry into the race for the post of Governor of Mombasa County.
Speaking in Mombasa where he joined other Muslim worshipers in celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, Joho slammed Wiper’s decision to allow the ousted governor of Nairobi to run in the county which has always been considered ODM territory.
The outspoken governor and close ally of Odinga, said Mombasa was not a county on which to impose rulers, promising Sonko a fierce political battle on the ballot.

“I’ll show you dust. It’ll be fire for fire. This time you’ll understand. Let them try anything else but not here in County 001,” the outgoing governor remarked.
Joho explained that he himself had made an assessment of the aspirants in the region to best succeed him as County Head and decided to hand over the mantle of leadership to Mvita MP Abdulswammad Nassir.
“I have started weighing the leaders of the region who are best placed to lead the people of Mombasa, those who will love them like me. I have installed and publicly endorsed Abdulswammad Shariff Nassir,” Joho reiterated.
For his part, Abdulswammad felt that Port County was not a dumping ground for leaders who had been rejected in other counties. The deputy noted that Sonko had a questionable character and was therefore unsuitable for the county.
“Those who send people thinking that residents here can be bought for a fee have been mistaken. There are some whose value is lower than that of the Jujube fruit which could not bring money to the market”, did he declare.
Flanked by a host of other leaders, they vowed to put aside their religious and ethnic diversity and work together to defeat the former Nairobi County boss. Additionally, they battled Joho to become Raila’s running mate.
“We are sending you Joho go work for the ex Prime Minister your level of fishing is now high seas To our party leader the Governor has what it takes to become the Vice President of the Republic of Kenya ,” Sharriff added.
The new revelation means Hassan Joho joins Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, wiper chief Kalonzo Musyoka and Cabinet Secretary of the agriculture Peter Munya to become the next vice-president.
