Kenya Police have added 100 units of the Mahindra Scorpio single cabin SUV to their fleet. Now in India we have seen the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway double cab pickup SUV, but the Indian automaker also offers the single cab unit in overseas markets. The Mahindra Scorpio Single-Cab is primarily offered as a utility vehicle and special application vehicle. The SUV supplied to the Kenya Police is based on the current generation of Mahindra Scorpio. Speaking now of design, it gets a bold grille as well as dual-beam headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper has a chunky, muscular appearance with two well-placed rectangular fog lights at both ends.

Inside, the overall layout is also similar to the front row of the current generation Scorpio. Under the hood, the Mahindra Scorpio Single-Cab gets the same 2.2-liter four-cylinder mHawk turbocharged diesel engine that also runs in the current Mahindra Scorpio. This engine develops 118 hp and 280 Nm of maximum torque. Transmission service is provided by a manual five-speed gearbox. While the Australian market spec model is all-wheel drive, it is not clear whether the Kenya spec model gets the same or not.
Now Mahindra does not offer the Scorpio Single-Cab in India as it has to be registered as a commercial vehicle. Mahindra also plans to launch the new generation Scorpio in India this year and will likely introduce the Getaway lifestyle Pick-Up SUV at a later date.
