Ruto officially invites Mudavadi to coalition talks
According to the secretary general of the United Democratic Alliance, Veronic Maina, Ruto has issued a formal invitation to join the two politicians in the general elections of 2022.
The DP, which has convinced the politicians of his camp to denounce the other parties in favor of the UDA, is ready to welcome the ANC and Ford Kenya in its envisaged alliance.
“In case they accept it, we will listen to them because, as UDA, we are a democratic party that does not make demands. Yes, anyone who wants to support us must join the UDA, but we will listen to the ANC and Ford Kenya“Ms. Maina said.
However, in a 2019 interview with former Citizen TV presenter Hussein Mohammed, Musalia vowed never to work with the vice president.
DP Ruto previously disagreed with key allies such as Gatundu Sud MP Moses Kuria and former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri who refused to fold their parties and join the UDA.
Kiunjuri has in the past said the UDA has refused to host other parties, warning that if the UDA collapses, voters in Mount Kenya would be left behind if they did not have a regional party.
“We have seen what can happen when we are all gathered in one party. We don’t want to repeat what happens in the Jubilee“said Kiunjuri.
On the other hand, Ruto, in a recent interview on Citizen TV, said he didn’t force anyone to fold his evenings.
“We will meet kwa uwanja. The Vice President believes in the creation of a national UDA party just as I strongly believe in the creation of a strong and very national party – Chama Cha Kazi. There is no contradiction here“Kuria said in a Facebook post.
He added that the UDA and CCK have very similar ideologies but differ on the equitable sharing of resources based on population, equality of voices and the practical and reasonable implementation of the economic transformation model.
