Uhuru stranded in Mount Kenya area, says Moses Kuria

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria denounced President Uhuru for failing to prepare the future rulers of Mount Kenya.
Via Facebook, Kuria accused the president of turning a blind eye to future political leaders in the Mount Kenya region.
The outspoken MP cited the sacking of former Cabinet Secretary of Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri, who was once touted as Uhuru’s successor in the region.
“One of only two Cabinet ministers, Uhuru Kenyatta, had the courage to shoot throughout his 10 years in power, the self-taught Kiunjuri is back in the ashes of Laikipia from where he was born,” writes Kuria.
Kuria says the Mount Kenya region has become an altar where political careers are sacrificed, arguing that several politicians have seen their careers end prematurely. He cites Kiunjuri, former MP Gitobu Imanyara, Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua and lead lawyer Paul Muite as examples.
âGitobu Imanyara got in and out of a hospital bed due to complications from Nyayo’s torture chambers,â Kuria said.
He adds: âMartha Karua has difficulty raising her head in a crowded crowd. Paul Muite’s political career withered like a failed harvest before harvest.
Kuria compared Uhuru’s leadership to that of ODM leader Raila Odinga, saying the latter never let his political lieutenants be forgotten.
âAnyang Nyong’o and James Orengo are still going strong even when Raila Odinga had all the powers he needed to defeat them in a thousand pieces. They now coexist in leadership alongside young leaders like John Mbadi and Edwin Sifuna, âsaid Kuria.
Kuria argues that aside from Jomo Kenyatta, the only other ruler of Mount Kenya who let the rulers grow was retired President Mwai Kibaki.
“He [Kibaki] prepared Uhuru Kenyatta for leadership by appointing him successively Deputy Prime Minister and then Minister of Finance, âKuria said.
